Series 2026
In this series I paint landscapes as a way to work through perception and structure at the same time. The paintings are made alla prima, sometimes from observation and sometimes from photographs. I am using speed as a constraint rather than a form of expression. I’m not interested in scenic climax or expressive flourish and I try to let decisions remain unresolved enough to keep the image from becoming illustrative or emotionally prescriptive. I use landscape as a testing ground for reduction, repetition, and attention. The work aims to stay open, allowing meaning to accumulate quietly across multiple paintings rather than resolving within a single image.
